The EpiCenter
A helpful online resource

Looking for effective practices? The Effective Practice Information Center (EpiCenter) is a great source for getting ideas for service-learning projects. The Epicenter presents projects in a clear and concise way that makes them easy to understand and replicate. You can also enter your projects onto EpiCenter, so you may share what you have learned with others.

The Corporation for National and Community Service sponsors this online source of effective program practices. The mission of EpiCenter is to support the development of sustainable programs by sharing what works in community service and volunteering. Launched in August 2000, EpiCenter is one of the first online resources of its kind, providing a way for members, volunteers, students and service professionals to learn from each other and more effectively serve their communities.

Take a look at the two PSLA special education projects currently posted on this site. The first posting is about The Service Opportunity Fair held last fall in Philadelphia. It was a great way to get students with disabilities connected with agencies looking for volunteers or service-learning project partners. The second posting is about My Corps Summer, a two-week summer program linking students with a National School and Community Corps. Use the links below to access the postings.
