Meet the New Urban Tech AmeriCorps*VISTA members!
by Greg Dean

Urban Tech, a project of the Pennsylvania Service-Learning Alliance now has two new AmeriCorps*VISTA members!

Pete Henderson is the Coordinator of Special Projects at UrbanTech. Pete is the primary administrator for our youth technology programs at various schools throughout the city. While at Defiance College, Pete worked as a specialist in the Computer Services department where he developed skills in hardware and software troubleshooting. He hopes to inspire youth to excel in technology and to grow as individuals through his work at Urban Tech.

Sonya Trippett currently serves as Director of UrbanTech’s TechCenter. She is responsible for maintaining the daily operations of TechCenter, keeping the refurbishing process organized and ensuring that every aspect of TechCenter is fully functional. A 1997 graduate from Computer Learning Center of Philadelphia, Sonya is skilled in computer repair and networking. After serving her year as an AmeriCorps VISTA, she hopes to continue teaching technology skills to various communities.
