[printer friendly (text) page] The President's Volunteer
Service Awards Soon to be Launched The
President’s Volunteer Service awards will recognize millions of
people who serve their communities for their dedication to community service.
Starting this spring, the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation
will launch the President's Volunteer Service Awards. The awards are modeled
after the President's Physical Fitness Awards and will be given annually.
There are several guidelines for these awards, all of which are outlined on the web site, including hours of service and how to keep track of your service. Individuals, families and organizations can receive awards. You will be able to apply for an award on the Freedom Corps website soon. These awards are a great way to celebrate and recognize the incredible service, taking place in your classrooms. Check out http://www.freedomcorps.gov/for_volunteers/awards_scholarships/
