Description/Accomplishments:

MISSION:
Service to to the Panther Valley School District and the communities of Coaldale, Lansford, Nesquehoning and Summit Hill, PA

ACTIVITIES:
Include support local personal assisted living facilities (Edgemont and Maple Shade), and St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital; offer educational programs through the Carbon County Cooperative Extension; coordinate a district wide canned food drive in support of the local food pantries in each of the communities of the school district; coordinate and hold a district wide CultureFest that celebrates the diversity of our local communities; coordinate a Read Across America program whereby HS students offer a program at all elementary school classrooms; coordinate a yearly Health Fair for the community; work in partnership with the Diacon Volunteer Home Care program; provide funeral assistance for deceased Veterans at the gravesites and color guard for other Veteran activities.

Monthly our Service Learning Council hold planning meetings. The group is made up of community leaders, school administrators, teachers and students.
