School-to-Work

Since May of 1994, when the School-to-Work Opportunities Act was passed by Congress, schools and communities across our country have been creating career exploration programs for students. The National School-to-Work Office, which falls under the U.S. Departments of Labor and Education, encourages educational and career opportunities for all students by providing funding for business and educational partnerships at the state and local level. These partnerships help create a connection between the classroom and the business community, and students are able to transfer their classroom knowledge into the workplace and prepare students for careers and educational opportunities beyond high school.
